Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in debt collection and Small Claims Court procedures, and is comfortable managing files independently in a fast-paced legal environment.

*Please do not apply if you are an articling student, or have long-term goals to be a lawyer. This role is for a Paralegal.

 

Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Maintain and manage accurate and organized debt collection files from initial demand through to resolution

· Prepare and file Small Claims Court documents (claims, defences, motions, etc.)

· Communicate with clients, debtors, and third parties in a professional manner

· Draft correspondence and legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy

· Attend court or tribunals as required

· Track deadlines and ensure timely progression of files

· Extremely efficient and adept organizational skills to manage simultaneous tasks effectively

· Negotiate settlements where appropriate

 

Requirements

· Paralegal diploma

· Licensed Paralegal

· Experience with debt collection and Small Claims Court is preferred

· Strong organizational and time management skills

 

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Real Estate Law Clerk

Overview:

The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently but be a good team player when needed.

Must have a minimum of two years previous experience as a Law Clerk on real estate transactions.

This position reports to a Senior Real Estate Law Clerk and offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive and balanced legal environment. Join us in our commitment to providing exceptional legal services and warm, friendly customer service.

Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Complete from start to finish residential/and or commercial real estate transactions

· Support files from opening through to closing

· Drafting all real estate related documents using Unity and Teraview

· Providing documents and materials on time to meet client needs, including proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness

· Managing scheduling, and handling expense posting to files and billings

· Dealing with and responding to client inquiries, and conducting follow up as required

· Verbal and written communications with clients and other lawyers
 

Core Skills & Requirements:

Proficiency in file management and organization

Detail oriented and highly organized

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Working knowledge of commercial and residential real estate transactions and preparation of relevant documents, including conducting title searches and preparing documents using Unity

Competency in data entry tasks with attention to accuracy and precision

Extremely efficient and adept organizational skills to manage simultaneous tasks effectively

Strong grammatical skills, including proofreading, attention to detail and accuracy are a must

Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as problem solving skills

Knowledge and experience with Unity and Teraview, as well as well as familiarity with real estate transactions

Understands confidentiality of client information
 

Experience:

Must have a minimum of two years previous experience as a Law Clerk on real estate transactions.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
