We’re currently seeking a junior associate lawyer who shares the same client-focused approach and enjoys a flexible workplace that allows for both life and work balance. As a successful candidate in our Litigation area, ideally with a focus on Debtor/Creditor and insolvency law. You will have experience dealing with the recovery of outstanding debt on behalf of creditors including financial institutions and leasing companies. We are committed to serving every client the best way possible, and it starts with finding the best legal talent, who cares about clients, to deliver it.
Be well versed in the debtor/creditor relationships
Advise, advocate for, or represent our clients’ interests and issues
Write clearly persuasive motions and facta
Be able to resolve disputes efficiently or in the alternative, litigate them
Continue your legal education with professional development
Contribute to a well-established practice with networking and business development
Work closely with team to prepare comprehensive motions, mediation briefs, trial preparation as needed;
Interface with clients about discovery, trial preparation, and other case-related work
Research and case preparation
Conduct examinations, motions, mediations, trials;
Make frequent court appearances, hearings, and pre-trial conferences
Member of Law Society of Ontario.
2-3 years’ litigation experience
Extremely detail oriented with ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and project management skills
Great client interface skills
Excellent with people and follow up to provide great legal advice and customer service
Detailed and organized
